Dental regulator meets delegates at its first registrant event

26 Jan 2011

The General Dental Council (GDC) began its series of registrant events in Belfast on 12 January. The event, gave delegates the opportunity to meet GDC staff, help shape the review on the GDC’s Standards, learn more about how the Council’s work affects them, and get the answers to the questions they wanted to ask.

Chief dental officer for Northern Ireland and affiliate member of the GDC, Donncha O’Carolan, said, “This was a great opportunity for registrants in Northern Ireland to speak directly to their professional regulator. A review of the current guidance document Standards for dental professionals is taking place this year and the GDC is keen to meet registrants and get their views on the Standards that directly affect their working lives.”

The GDC will be holding registrant events in Birmingham (February 17), Edinburgh (March 15) and Cardiff (May 25). All events are free and can be counted as two hours of non-verifiable CPD.

Any dental professionals interested in attending can find out more information and book online at Places are limited, so early booking is advised.
